AI credits guide

Understanding how AI credits work and how they are used.

What are AI credits?

AI credits are used when you interact with AI features on the platform whether it's creating an app in the editor or using AI features in your apps after they're built.

Key Points:

  • AI credits are consumed when you use AI features in the editor or in your apps after they're built.
  • Different operations consume different amounts of AI credits based on the complexity of the operation.
  • Your apps remain fully functional even when AI credits run low. Only AI features are affected.
  • AI credits reset monthly based on your subscription plan

Credit consumption in apps

Understanding who consumes AI credits is crucial when building and sharing apps. The platform is designed so that each user manages their own AI credit usage.

Important: Users consume their own credits

When you share an app with others, their AI usage counts towards their own monthly credit limit, not yours. This means you can share apps freely without worrying about other people's usage depleting your credit balance.

  • When you use your own apps: Your AI interactions consume your AI credits
  • When others use apps you've shared: Their AI interactions consume their own AI credits, not yours
  • When you use apps others have shared: Your AI interactions consume your AI credits, not the app creator's

What this means for you:

  • Share your apps without worrying about credit costs from other users
  • Build AI-powered apps knowing your users will use their own credits
  • Focus on creating valuable apps rather than managing other people's usage
  • Only the AI features you personally use in the editor or in apps will consume your credits

Supporting creators when you use their apps

When you use AI features in an app built by a creator, a small portion of your credits goes directly to them as a creator reward. Most of your credits cover the underlying AI compute and the creator portion is a modest premium on top of that.

Think of it this way: you're not just paying for raw AI compute, you're also supporting the person who packaged that AI into something genuinely useful for you. You get a well-crafted tool and they get rewarded for building it. The creator never sees your data, and the reward is automatic with every interaction.

Managing your usage

Monitor your usage

Keep track of your AI credit usage in your account settings. You'll see how many AI credits you've used this month and which operations are consuming the most AI credits.

Understand operation costs

Different AI features consume credits at different rates. Review the operation costs above so you can choose lower-cost workflows when they fit your use case and reserve heavier AI operations for the moments they add the most value.

Optimize your apps

Design your apps to be AI credit-efficient by minimizing unnecessary AI calls. Consider caching results where appropriate to reduce repeated operations.

When AI credits run low

If you run out of AI credits, your apps continue to work normally but AI features will be temporarily unavailable until your AI credits reset, you upgrade your plan, or you purchase a credit pack.

Upgrade for more AI credits

Need more AI credits? The Super plan includes 10x more AI credits per month. It's perfect for users who want to build and use multiple AI-powered apps and access advanced AI. You can also purchase a credit pack to boost your balance.
